Mark your calendars on us! The Obama Foundation has unleashed the musical lineup for the Obama Presidential Center Grand Opening Ceremony, and INYIM will be streaming the moment at our Live Hub this Thursday.

The ceremony takes place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, the day before Juneteenth, with the showcase beginning at 11 a.m. CT from Chicago’s South Side.
The complete announced lineup includes Christina Aguilera, The Roots, Bruce Springsteen, Common, Eddie Vedder, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Marc Anthony, Bono and The Edge of U2, Tems and Marsai Martin.
It is a generational lineup for a generational Chicago moment—and we will be watching right along with you.
More Than a Presidential Library
Presidential centers are often thought of as libraries, but the Obama Presidential Center is built as a larger civic campus. The official presidential records remain part of the National Archives’ Obama Presidential Library system, while the Chicago Center brings the public-facing story to life through a museum, a Chicago Public Library branch, community spaces, gardens, art, recreation and year-round programming.
That makes the grand opening feel bigger than a ribbon-cutting. The Center is designed to create space for education, creativity, civic conversation and community connection—the exact kind of curiosity, access and cultural creation we champion here at INYIM.
A place to learn, gather, create and bring new ideas back into the world? That is very much our frequency.

The Thursday ceremony is invite-only in person, but the livestream makes the celebration available for everyone everywhere. Between the speeches, the performances and the significance of the campus itself, it is shaping up to be one of the week’s major cultural moments.
