Nadav Perlman lets memory, distance and the idea of home take root.

Roots turns a personal connection to childhood landscape into a performative Spring/Summer 2027 collection presented in Antwerp.

Roots was not introduced through a conventional runway. Nadav Perlman instead created a performative experience that invited the audience into the emotional world behind the clothes.

The collection begins with something deeply personal: leaving a childhood home, living abroad and watching that original place become almost mystical through distance.

For Perlman, home is no longer simply a physical location. It becomes soil, trees, mountains, low landscapes and the memory of where identity first began taking shape.

That pull runs through the collection without becoming simple nostalgia. The clothes feel connected to something living, unresolved and still changing beneath the surface.

Soft draping, elongated silhouettes, layered fabrics and sculptural forms give the collection a sense of movement between protection and exposure. Some looks appear wrapped close to the body, while others open outward as though the wearer is still searching for where they belong.

The palette remains grounded and organic, allowing texture, construction and proportion to carry the emotional weight. Fabric folds, twists and falls with the body rather than sitting in one fixed or overly polished shape.

There is also something nomadic in the collection. The models look prepared to move, wander and carry pieces of home with them, even when that original place exists more strongly in memory than reality.

Luc Gommers photographs the lookbook with enough restraint to let the garments hold their own atmosphere. The images keep the focus on silhouette, texture and the sense of quiet emotional distance running through the collection.

Roots ultimately asks what remains when a person grows away from where they began. For Nadav Perlman, the answer appears to be everything: the place may become distant, but it continues shaping every new direction.
