Giuseppe Riserbato Strips The Frame Back To Skin And Presence

Model Matt van de Sande gets skin deep in a stripped-back portrait series that understands the power of leaving very little between the subject and the lens.
Photographed by Giuseppe Riserbato, the Spring 2025 editorial is titled “Come Inside”—and yes, thee invitation is every bit as intimate as it sounds. The images move through skin, shadow, stillness and direct eye contact without burying van de Sande beneath styling theatrics.
Instead, Riserbato keeps the visual language close and controlled. The framing lets posture and expression do most of the talking, turning each photograph into something quieter than a standard model showcase and far more personal than a conventional beauty spread.

Van de Sande has the kind of face that can carry both softness and precision, and this series leans into that duality. One frame reads almost serene; the next feels more confrontational. The body remains visible, but it is never thee only subject.
That balance is where “Come Inside” becomes most effective. Skin may be the immediate visual hook, yet the photographs are really about presence—the subtle tension created when a model appears completely aware of the camera without performing too loudly for it.
Riserbato’s lighting keeps the series polished without sanding away its intimacy. Texture remains intact, the compositions stay uncluttered and van de Sande is allowed to occupy the frame with a relaxed confidence that never needs to shout.

The result is sensual, certainly, but not one-note. This INYIM selection from the larger editorial shows a model and photographer working in the same visual rhythm—one supplying control and ease, the other knowing exactly when to move closer.
Matt Van De Sande Comes Into Full Focus
The remaining portraits from this INYIM selection keep the styling minimal and the attention exactly where Riserbato intended it: on van de Sande’s form, expression and quiet command of the lens.
