Dig out fashion legacy brand MM6 Maison Margiela and its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, where the familiar wardrobe gets shifted just far enough off-axis to become something else entirely.

Presented in Milan on September 23, 2026, MM6’s latest outing plays with one of the label’s favorite tricks: taking clothes everybody already understands and persuading them to behave differently. Shirts become dresses without quite stopping being shirts. Sweaters migrate south. Jackets and trousers change jobs. The idea is not total reinvention so much as reassigning the rules of the wardrobe.

MM6 Rewrites the Everyday Wardrobe

The MM6 Spring/Summer 2027 collection bends familiar garments through altered proportions, unexpected styling and the house’s signature sense of humor.

For the menswear side of the collection, the strongest ideas come through in proportion and placement. Silhouettes stretch, collapse and pivot around the body while still hanging onto recognizable archetypes. What looks straightforward at first glance usually carries some small act of sabotage in the cut, closure or styling.

That tension between normal and not-quite-normal is exactly where MM6 lives best. A shirt can fold into a square and still read as a shirt. A sweater can drop onto the hips and suddenly work as a skirt. The collection even introduces a studio-built “hip-paulette” to push volume outward from the body, taking the logic of an epaulette and relocating it somewhere it was never meant to go.

The footwear gets its own wink. MM6’s collaboration with Havaianas turns the classic flip-flop into something stranger by punching in an extra toe slot — six openings for MM6’s signature number — while stacked platform versions push the joke even further.

That is the sweet spot here: recognizable clothes, slightly wrong on purpose. Nothing has to scream to make the point. MM6 keeps bending the everyday until the ordinary starts looking fresh again, which is a much harder trick than simply making something weird for the sake of weird.

Below, INYIM pulls a menswear-focused edit from the Spring/Summer 2027 runway — all skewed proportions, reworked basics and that familiar Margiela instinct for making a wardrobe feel newly suspicious.
