Priya Ahluwalia Chooses Lightness, Community and a Little Revelry

Welcome Ahluwalia’s Spring Summer 2027 collection, “Revel.” On-location at Rosewood London via London Fashion Week, creative director Priya Ahluwalia trades doom dressing for something warmer: joy, togetherness and the radical little act of choosing lightness anyway.
The collection began in a much sterner place. Ahluwalia says her early research centered on resistance movements before photographs of former Black Panther members at home — resting, unguarded and away from the public fight — shifted the entire mood. The realization was simple but potent: people who resist are also people who rest.
From there, Revel became less about resistance as permanent tension and more about self-care, community and small gestures of kindness as something protective. Ahluwalia’s own collection notes frame joy as a form of resistance, with optimism and togetherness positioned as answers to an uncertain age. The clothes follow that push and pull. Sharp tailoring, leather and harder-edged references sit beside movement, softness and volume, while fringe, organza and sport-inflected pieces keep the collection from ever feeling too precious. There is structure here, yes, but there is also permission to move.
Ahluwalia also extends its ongoing PUMA collaboration into the season, folding sportswear deeper into the runway language. The partnership includes reworked track pieces, football-inspired knitwear and new footwear, allowing the collection’s ideas around community and movement to show up in something immediately wearable rather than remaining purely conceptual.
The setting helped carry the idea, too. Presented at Rosewood London, Revel arrives as a collection about taking up space without making joy feel frivolous. Ahluwalia’s point is almost the opposite: in difficult times, rest, beauty, friendship and celebration can be part of what keeps people going.
And that is where Revel lands best. Not as an escape from everything happening outside the room, but as a reminder that dressing up, gathering together and finding a reason to feel good can carry its own kind of weight. Fashion does not have to solve the world to reflect how people want to move through it.
