Kit Harington Gets Tangled in Love and Treason in “A Tale of Two Cities”
Hottie actor Kit Harington has love, treason and one very complicated triangle on his hands in the official trailer for MGM+’s new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities.
The four-part limited series stars Harington as Sydney Carton, a brilliant but troubled young lawyer, alongside François Civil as Charles Darnay and Mirren Mack as Lucie Manette.
Set in London in 1782, the story begins as tensions between France and Britain are running high. Lucie learns that her father, believed dead for nearly 20 years, may still be alive. The message comes through French émigré Charles Darnay, who is soon arrested and charged with treason, sending Lucie to Sydney for help.
Then things get messy. Lucie and Charles fall for each other while Sydney carries feelings of his own, turning Dickens’ classic into what Harington has described as a modern love triangle unfolding against a world coming apart.
Harington also serves as an executive producer on the adaptation, which brings together British and French actors for the four-part period drama.
A Tale of Two Cities premieres Sunday, September 6, 2026 on MGM+.
