Baptiste Giabiconi Trades Nostalgia for a Sharper Fashion Return
More than a decade after becoming one of Karl Lagerfeld’s most recognizable male muses, Baptiste Giabiconi is not leaning on nostalgia. In the February 2025 cover story for L’Officiel Hommes Thailand, the French model steps back into the fashion foreground with the same camera-commanding intensity—only sharper, moodier and built for now.
Photographed by Anka Garbowska, styled by DaVian Lain, with grooming and hair by Eddy Scudo and movement direction from Brian Poniatowski, the editorial swings between matinée idol and urban futurist. There are belted coats against red-brick streets, severe black-and-white tailoring, sculptural pieces and enough leather-heavy noir to remind everyone why Giabiconi became a Lagerfeld favorite in the first place.

The shoot is not interested in displaying Giabiconi like some preserved relic from the 2000s. Instead, it uses the history. The sharp jaw, controlled stare and theatrical physicality are all still present, but the styling roughs up the old gloss and sends it through industrial rooms, city corners and stripped-back studio light.
Published wardrobe notes point to a beige Saint Laurent suit and a belted Dolce & Gabbana coat, two looks that help the story bounce between clean luxury and cinematic menace. Elsewhere, Giabiconi wears exaggerated graphic shapes, exposed tailoring and a leather look that goes full noir without losing the fashion.
Giabiconi’s real weapon remains movement. He folds himself over a metal stool, stretches the silhouette of a trench coat against the street and turns an asymmetrical white piece into something halfway between clothing and choreography. Thee 2000s supermodel has entered his 2020s chapter—and he clearly did not come back to stand still.
