Jacob Dooley Lets Fire Island Do the Styling

The photo story was shot outdoors on Fire Island, where Dooley said the atmosphere gave him an unusual sense of freedom while working in the nude. Rather than feeling exposed, he described the Pines as a place where people were free to be themselves — making the shoot one of the most comfortable outdoor sessions he had experienced.
That ease comes through in Fucile’s images. There is very little between model, landscape and camera, which lets the story lean into the natural setting instead of forcing a conventional fashion narrative onto it.

Dooley later told Yummy that the shoot marked his first visit to the Pines. The openness of the place changed the energy for him; even with people passing by during the beach scenes, the experience felt relaxed instead of guarded.
The stripped-back setting suits Dooley, who spoke with Yummy about creativity, sensuality, confidence and the line between artistic and sexual imagery. In that context, the photographs feel less like a traditional clothes-first editorial and more like a portrait of comfort in one’s own skin.
