Dig out Gucci’s Spring-Summer 2027 collection by Demna — a season that looks backward, sideways and straight into the shop window all at once.
Presented in Milan as “The Store Show,” Demna turned the runway space into a convincing Gucci boutique and treated the house archive almost like inventory. The Store Show Piles Gucci History Into One Wardrobe
The tension is the point. The Fashionisto describes the collection as Demna’s first full expression for the house, and you can see him testing how much Gucci history can sit in one wardrobe before it starts arguing with itself. There is the familiar polished side — peacoats, trenches, double-breasted tailoring and loafers — followed by the more disruptive Demna side: inflated bombers, severe styling, track pieces and hardware pushed well past discreet.
The season’s most impossible-to-ignore accessory may be the 3X belt, built around a trio of Horsebits and wrapped over denim, rugby shirting and cropped outerwear. Elsewhere, GG canvas, the Web stripe and Horsebit loafers keep the collection firmly legible as Gucci even when the proportions start to swell.
That mix keeps the menswear from settling into one neat era. A belted trench and tie can feel almost conservative beside a puffed denim jacket with a shearling collar, while wide trousers and oversized coats stretch the old-school Gucci codes into something more recognizably Demna.
