Dig Out Forum Athletics: Greek Letters, Gym Uniforms and Ancient Greece

Dig out Gosha Rubchinskiy’s Fall 26: Forum Athletics. The latest release heads straight for collegiate culture — uniforms, emblems, sportswear and the kind of Greek-letter graphics usually reserved for campus life — then filters the whole thing through Rubchinskiy’s worn-in, youth-driven eye.
The visual language revolves around three letters: Phi, Upsilon and Mu — Φ, Υ and Μ. They appear throughout the collection alongside the Discobolus, the ancient Greek discus thrower associated with the classical ideal of harmony between body and mind. Here, that old-world symbol gets dragged into the present through distressed prints, patches and embroidery.

Phi, Upsilon and Mu Take Over the Uniform
There is something satisfyingly blunt about turning three Greek characters into the collection’s main insignia. They work like team marks, fraternity lettering and old-school athletic crests without locking themselves to any one institution. Add the Discobolus and suddenly Forum Athletics is playing with two versions of sport at once: the classical body ideal and the lived-in campus uniform.
That tension keeps the clothes from feeling like straight nostalgia. Rubchinskiy borrows from different sporting uniforms, then lets raw-cut edges and deliberately cropped sleeves do the aging. The point is not pristine varsity dressing. It is the wardrobe after it has been worn, altered and claimed by whoever actually lives in it.

Sportswear Looks Better After It Has Lived a Little
The best idea here is also the simplest: uniforms get more interesting once perfection wears off. Hoodies, track pieces and athletic references are treated less like team-issued gear and more like personal artifacts, with distressing and altered proportions giving the collection the feeling of something accumulated over time.
Forum Athletics is available through Gosha Rubchinskiy’s official online store and retail locations, but the imagery does plenty of the talking on its own. Black-and-white presentation keeps the focus on silhouette, insignia and attitude rather than turning the release into a color story.
