Genesis Owusu and Ladyhawke make some musical magic together

Genesis Owusu and Ladyhawke got together to make some musical magic, collaborating on the tune “Falling Both Ways.” Aside from the stellar track itself, the pairing recently jumped from record to stage for one very fitting live crossover.
“Falling Both Ways” appears on Genesis Owusu’s 2026 album REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE, released May 15. The track features both artists on lead and backing vocals, with Dann Hume handling drums, programming, bass, synth and electric guitar.

The collaboration already works as a neat collision of their instincts. Owusu’s REDSTAR WU world moves through punk, soul, hip-hop and electronic textures without much interest in staying inside one lane, while Ladyhawke brings the sharp synth-pop instincts that have followed her since her self-titled debut.
Then came triple j’s One Night Stand 2026. Genesis Owusu hit the Griffith Showgrounds on September 5 as part of the festival’s return, staged on Wiradjuri Country in Griffith, New South Wales. And Ladyhawke joined him for a live run through her timeless hit “My Delirium.”
That song dates back to Ladyhawke’s 2008 self-titled era, but the One Night Stand version folds it directly into Owusu’s set. triple j lists the performance as “The Other Black Dog / My Delirium”, turning the cameo into more than a quick guest walk-on.

The One Night Stand set itself arrived during a stacked year for Owusu, who brought the REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE material to Griffith alongside a lineup featuring Ninajirachi, DMA’S, MAY-A and Beddy Rays.
And “Falling Both Ways” was right there in the set too. So the Ladyhawke connection did not feel dropped in from another universe — the collaboration was already baked into this chapter of the music.
Dig out the collabo first, then catch their live “My Delirium” duet from Griffith right after.
