In another edition of Favorite-Favorite All-Time Favorites,” we feature indie psych-pop veterans Of Montreal! “Love Me Not,” is the name of their upcoming fifteenth album, but before that hot cinnamon roll in the oven finishes to bake here we have a cover of English poet and musician (and Nick Drake’s mom) Molly Drake. Of Montreal leave their yummy signature cotton candy one of a kind ting on “Love Isn’t A Right”. Superbly melodramatic it’s just in time for the next upcoming holiday season celebration, Valentine’s Day.
Fresh music, bold entertainment, and men’s fashion—one tight email a week.
Superstar lead singer Kevin Barnes says this about the beautifully touching cover…
“Molly Drake’s music in a Nick Drake documentary I saw a few years ago. I was touched by the elegance and sad beauty of her work. I’ve grown to adore and treasure all of her songs. I chose to cover “Love Isn’t A Right” because it felt relevant to my own life, as I have recently fallen in love. I like that the song is instructive and profound but also playful and intelligent in a way that songs about love often aren’t.”
