Eckhaus Latta Turns 15 by Making More Friends

Dig out fashion brand Eckhaus Latta as it unleashes its Spring/Summer 2027 runway collection!
Designers Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta are marking the label’s 15th anniversary with a collection entitled “Making More Friends” at New York Fashion Week — a fitting name for a brand that has always felt less interested in building a polished fashion kingdom than in expanding its own strange, creative neighborhood.

For Spring/Summer 2027, the duo keep working the wardrobe they know best: relaxed trousers, denim, knitwear, T-shirts, shirting and tailored separates, all pushed through subtle shifts in proportion, construction, layering and texture. The point is not to blow up the everyday piece and start over. It is to make the familiar feel just off enough to become interesting again.

That lived-in tension is still the Eckhaus Latta sweet spot. Denim remains central, knitwear brings the playful side, and the silhouettes stay relaxed enough to feel worn rather than staged. Even the more refined pieces keep a little wrinkle, transparency or imbalance in the mix — the reminder that this label has never been particularly interested in looking too finished.

The anniversary also arrives alongside the designers’ latest J.Crew collaboration, which reworks familiar American staples through Eckhaus Latta’s off-center lens. It makes “Making More Friends” feel less like a cute anniversary tagline and more like a neat summary of where the label is at 15: still weird, still downtown-minded, but increasingly comfortable inviting more people into the room.
That evolution is visible here. The clothes have become more refined, but not obedient. A bias-cut tee, sheer layer, permanently wrinkled skirt or awkwardly elegant proportion can still interrupt the polish before things get too proper. Fifteen years in, Eckhaus Latta still knows the beauty is often in whatever keeps the outfit from behaving.
