“Bare & Bold” Turns Rival Energy Into a Sharp Fashion Face-Off

There’s a little dueling, a little competing and a whole lot of beautifully controlled tension in the air between Paolo Feliciangeli and Nicola Russo.
The two models front Bare & Bold, an athletic fashion editorial photographed by Giuseppe Attanasio for the May 2024 issue of Man in Town Magazine. The spread recently resurfaced through Morphosis, and frankly, the push-pull chemistry is still doing exactly what it needs to do.
This is not a soft, sleepy menswear story. The appeal is in the contrast: two strong presences sharing the same frame, each holding his own while the editorial plays with that competitive edge.

Giuseppe Attanasio Keeps the Energy Clean and Athletic
Attanasio’s photography gives the editorial its backbone. Rather than overcomplicating the setup, the images lean into physical presence, shape and the visual tension between the two models.
The result feels direct without becoming obvious. Paolo and Nicola are presented as a pair, but the imagery never asks either one to disappear into the other. That sense of individual presence is what gives the spread its title-worthy “bold” side.

The Creative Team Keeps the Editorial Stripped Back, Not Underworked
The clean look is the result of a full team behind the images. Romolo Battista handled styling, Gianni Grispino was responsible for hair, Chiara Tipaldi handled makeup and Chiara Iermano produced the story.
Pasquale Improda and Ester Cassandra also worked as styling assistants, helping keep the fashion language focused while the models themselves carry most of the visual drama.
That balance is important. “Bare” here does not mean empty. It means the editorial knows exactly how much it needs and stops there.
Paolo and Nicola Make Competition Look Very Good
What sells the series is the sense that Paolo Feliciangeli and Nicola Russo are never merely occupying the same photograph. There is a visual challenge happening between them — a bit of one-upmanship, a bit of symmetry, and just enough friction to keep the images from feeling static.
It is less “who wore it better?” and more “who is going to blink first?”
And for an editorial called Bare & Bold, that is exactly the right game to be playing.
