Washed denim, football knits and Charlie Puth make their own luck

Musician turned model? Not quite. Charlie Puth is doing something a little more official: he is Lucky Brand’s newest brand ambassador, stepping into Fall 2026 with washed denim, throwback sportswear and enough relaxed charm to make “I just threw this on” look suspiciously well planned.
The pairing actually makes sense. Lucky Brand has spent decades tying its denim-and-Americana identity to music, while Puth has built a career around doing things very much his own way. The brand announced the partnership in August, positioning the singer, songwriter and producer as part of its next chapter connecting style, music and individual self-expression.
LUCKY FALL

For the actual campaign, Lucky does not try to transform Puth into some high-fashion creature we would never recognize. That would miss the point. Instead, the clothes lean into the brand’s familiar vocabulary: relaxed jeans, striped knits, layered thermals, faded jerseys and washed shirts that look better because they are supposed to feel already broken in.
It is Americana with the starch taken out. A vintage-looking red football jersey carries a giant 37 across the front. A striped sweater gets pulled halfway over Puth’s face. Indigo layers pile over soft knits and wide denim. Even the contact-sheet frames feel less like polished celebrity advertising and more like somebody kept the in-between shots because the in-between shots were better.

That looseness is doing a lot of work. Lucky Brand’s own Fall 2026 assortment currently pushes relaxed denim, textured sweaters, Western shirts and easy outerwear, so the campaign does not feel disconnected from what is actually hanging on the racks. Puth is not selling a fantasy wardrobe. He is selling the possibility that your favorite jeans and slightly beat-up knit might still be the right answer.
The partnership is also bigger than these pictures. Lucky Brand says Puth will appear across paid media, social, in-store marketing and select wholesale activations, extending the relationship beyond a single seasonal shoot. For a label founded in 1990 and still rooted in premium denim, Americana and music culture, putting a pop songwriter at the center of the campaign feels more like returning to a familiar lane than chasing a random celebrity moment.
Puth has said the appeal was that Lucky Brand values individuality and doing things your own way. That sentiment could have come straight off a musician’s press release — but in these images, at least, the clothes back it up. Nothing looks overly styled into submission. The washed surfaces, loose silhouettes and casual layers leave room for the person inside them.

And yes, the whole thing is aggressively easygoing. But easygoing is harder to photograph than it sounds. Push too hard and the “casual” becomes a costume. Here, the best frames are the ones where Puth is laughing, slouching, pulling at a sweater or simply staring off-camera like the campaign caught him between takes.
