Moby is an American electronic musician, producer, songwriter and DJ whose career has moved from underground rave music to ambient experimentation and global pop crossover. Born in New York, he emerged in the early 1990s with club records before the 1999 album Play brought blues and gospel samples into atmospheric electronic production on songs such as “Porcelain” and “Natural Blues.” His extensive catalog also spans punk, rock, minimal ambient music and orchestral reinterpretations.
