Lil’ Kim

Lil’ Kim is an American rapper from Brooklyn whose fearless lyricism, fashion and sexual self-possession reshaped women’s place in mainstream hip-hop. After emerging with Junior M.A.F.I.A. and The Notorious B.I.G., she released the landmark 1996 solo album Hard Core, followed by The Notorious K.I.M., La Bella Mafia and The Naked Truth. Songs including “Crush on You,” “No Time,” “The Jump Off” and the Grammy-winning “Lady Marmalade” collaboration helped make her both a rap icon and a major influence on subsequent generations of artists.
