Built around commanding lead vocals and tightly arranged harmonies, the group became one of the defining acts of 1990s R&B with songs including “Hold On,” “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” “Free Your Mind” and “Don’t Let Go (Love).” Their music blends soul, funk, new jack swing, pop and rock influences while preserving a classic girl-group vocal foundation.
