Black Eyed Peas are a Los Angeles group whose evolution from alternative hip-hop to global pop made them one of the most commercially successful acts of the 2000s. Formed around will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo in 1995, the group’s early records leaned toward jazz-rap before the Fergie era brought crossover hits including “Where Is the Love?,” “Let’s Get It Started,” “My Humps,” “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling.” Later releases returned to hip-hop while also embracing Latin and dance-pop collaborations.
