Queen Latifah is officially returning to host the 2024 NAACP Image Awards, airing live on Saturday, March 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT across BET and CBS. The multi‑hyphenate legend also hosted last year’s ceremony, and this year’s event returns to the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles — the venue that housed the show from 2006 to 2013.

Latifah, 53, remains one of the most decorated and influential entertainers of her generation. She’s a Grammy winner (“U.N.I.T.Y.”), a Primetime Emmy winner for producing HBO’s Bessie, an Oscar nominee for Chicago, and one of the youngest recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors. She currently stars in and executive produces CBS’s hit series The Equalizer, now in its fourth season.

This year’s ceremony will also spotlight two major honorees:

  • Amanda Gorman, 25 — poet, writer, activist, and the voice behind “The Hill We Climb” at President Biden’s 2021 inauguration — will receive the Chairman’s Award, honoring individuals who use their platforms for public service and cultural impact.
  • June Ambrose, 52 — visionary creative director and costume designer known for Belly and iconic styling for Missy Elliott and Jay‑Z — will receive the Vanguard Award at the NAACP Image Awards Fashion Show on March 15.

BET’s Connie Orlando shared:

“We are thrilled to collaborate with groundbreaking megastar Queen Latifah and are elated to welcome her again as this year’s host!”

The 55th NAACP Image Awards premiere live March 16, with additional winners recognized during non‑televised events from March 11–15.
