Charlie Heaton gets a super-duper surprise question from his current co-star Josh Hartnett aka Daddy. It all went down on The Drew Barrymore Show, where Heaton stopped by to talk about Netflix’s new limited series Below.
Hartnett and Heaton play father and son Calvin and Wade Penney in the Newfoundland-set thriller, and judging by this little surprise, some of that family chemistry clearly followed them off set. Rather than appearing in person, Hartnett left behind a question for his TV son — enough to immediately catch Heaton off guard.

The timing makes the bit even better. Below premiered on Netflix on October 8, with Hartnett starring as stubborn fisherman Calvin and Heaton as his son Wade as their small Newfoundland community faces a mysterious threat from the sea. The six-episode series was filmed on location in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The two actors have spoken about how naturally their father-son dynamic came together while making Below. Hartnett has described feeling protective of Heaton in character, while Heaton has said watching Hartnett with his real family helped make that relationship easy to imagine on screen. So yes, “Daddy” is doing a little work here beyond just INYIM being INYIM.
