Wooyoungmi Sends Its Winter Travelers Somewhere Between Then And Now

Wooyoungmi unveils its Fall/Winter 2026 campaign, photographed by Alasdair McLellan on location in Dungeness.
The images continue the travel-minded world of the collection, which moves between historical references and contemporary menswear without ever looking like it got stuck in one particular decade. Think winter traveler, wandering dandy and a little bit of old-world railway romance — all filtered through Wooyoungmi’s very modern eye.

Alasdair McLellan Takes Wooyoungmi Out Into Dungeness
The campaign marks Wooyoungmi’s second collaboration with McLellan, and Dungeness gives him the right kind of landscape for the season: exposed, windswept and slightly removed from ordinary time.
That environment fits a collection built around movement between eras. The clothes borrow from Edwardian dress and the 1960s and 1970s, but the references are never treated like costume. Instead, strict tailoring is softened, historical fabrics are pushed into contemporary shapes and winter utility gets a decidedly polished edge.

The Tailoring Is Dandy, But The Mood Never Gets Too Precious
Wooyoungmi describes the season through dandy-inspired tailoring that spans the Edwardian period through the ’60s and ’70s. Blazers sit closer to the body, velvet and heritage fabrics add weight, and softer construction keeps the silhouettes from becoming rigid.
Elsewhere, faux astrakhan waistcoats, leather field jackets and voluminous faux-fur coats bring in the warmth and practicality of winter travel. It is a familiar Wooyoungmi trick: take something functional, something historical and something slightly romantic, then make all three live comfortably in the same look.
This Collection Has One Foot On The Platform And One In The City
The wider Fall/Winter 2026 collection was conceived around travelers moving through time and space, from steam locomotives to the metro and from rugged mountains toward the city. That tension between journey and destination gives the campaign its backbone.
There is nostalgia here, certainly, but it is not soft-focus nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake. Wooyoungmi keeps the clothes grounded in the present through proportion, layering and texture — which is exactly why the historical references feel alive rather than archived.
