Eddie Horniman Wants More — And That’s Where The Trouble Starts
Ambition cannot be tamed — and Eddie Horniman is apparently done pretending he wants it to be.
Netflix has dropped the full-length trailer for The Gentlemen Season 2, and Theo James’ beautifully tailored Duke of Halstead is no longer simply trying to survive the criminal empire sitting beneath his aristocratic life. This time, he wants to expand it.
Season 2 arrives on Sept. 3, with Eddie and Susie Glass — played by Kaya Scodelario — now one year into working together inside Bobby Glass’ operation. Their business has moved overseas, their ambitions are getting bigger, and Bobby’s increasingly questionable decisions are beginning to make the entire arrangement look a little less stable.

Eddie Is No Longer The Reluctant Duke In The Room
The biggest shift is Eddie himself. Season 1 began with a man discovering that his inherited country estate came with one very illegal surprise underneath it. By Season 2, that shock has worn off. According to Netflix, Eddie has bought into the possibilities of combining his aristocratic position with the criminal world — and that newfound appetite is starting to move his ego.
Lead writer and executive producer Matthew Read says the season was built around Eddie expanding the reach of the empire while testing his relationship with Bobby, the man he is technically still working under. Which sounds less like peaceful growth and more like somebody eventually asking who actually runs this place.
Susie And Eddie Have Bigger Problems Than Business Expansion
Netflix’s official logline makes the pressure point clear: as Eddie and Susie push to grow the enterprise, Bobby’s judgment appears increasingly unsound. The pair now have to decide whether to intervene or keep falling in line and risk losing everything they have built.
The trailer leans into exactly what made the first season work — immaculate tailoring, aristocratic absurdity, dangerous people speaking very calmly and Guy Ritchie’s particular talent for making criminal enterprise look like an extremely expensive dinner reservation.
The returning cast includes Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Ray Winstone, Vinnie Jones, Joely Richardson and Giancarlo Esposito, while the new season expands the world beyond the English estate and into a much bigger international operation.
And Netflix Has Already Ordered Season 3
Apparently Netflix does not need to see how badly Eddie’s latest power trip ends before asking for more. The streamer confirmed Season 3 before Season 2 even premieres.
Guy Ritchie says the show’s ambition has accelerated and its world has expanded, calling another season a natural next step. No major Season 3 plot details have been revealed yet, but the early renewal makes one thing clear: Netflix expects the Glass/Horniman operation to survive long enough to cause even more beautifully dressed problems.
