Come Thru Vocals is a long-running It’s Not You It’s Me Media series spotlighting standout vocal performances, emerging artists and new songs worth adding to your rotation. Curated by the INYIM music desk, many selections later appear in the Musique Dig’s Weekly Playlist and enter rotation on INYIM Radio.

Today’s Come Thru Vocals doubles down on Little Simz with “Game On” featuring JT and “That’s a No No.” Saturday belongs entirely to Simz as she shifts from a brooding, high-speed collaboration into a stranger solo cut packed with switch-ups. Same artist, two very different flexes from the four-track Sugar Girl EP.

Little Simz Ft. JT

Tune: Game On

Little Simz and JT make “Game On” feel like a calculated collision. Simz keeps her delivery cool and controlled over the track’s brooding club pulse before JT crashes in with a louder, sharper burst of attitude. The contrast is the whole thrill: one voice stalks the beat while the other kicks the door open.

Tune: That’s a No No

Then Little Simz returns alone for “That’s a No No,” because apparently one appearance was not enough. The track begins with a harder, more confrontational edge before slipping into a more melodic second stretch, letting Simz bend her flow and tone without asking permission. It is playful, unpredictable and unmistakably hers.
