The conversation brings together Chase Infiniti, Ann Dowd, Rowan Blanchard, Amy Seimetz, Lucy Halliday, Mattea Conforti and Mabel Li for a cast discussion moderated by Kim Roots.

As the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments returns viewers to Gilead years later, following a new generation of young women navigating power, fear, obedience and the possibility of resistance.

Different generation. Same terrifying Gilead. Fresh performances with plenty to dissect.

A New Generation Takes the Story Forward

The Testaments centers on Agnes, played by Chase Infiniti, and Daisy, played by Lucy Halliday, as the story moves into the next chapter of the Gilead universe. Ann Dowd returns as Aunt Lydia, carrying one of the original series’ most complicated figures into a new phase.

The ensemble also includes Rowan Blanchard as Shunammite, Mattea Conforti as Becka, Mabel Li as Aunt Vidala and Amy Seimetz as Paula, expanding the world through younger voices, new pressures and a different angle on survival.

Performance Notes From the World of Atwood

What makes this kind of SAG-AFTRA Foundation conversation worth pressing play on is the actor-to-actor detail. The cast is not just promoting the show; they are talking through how they built fear, loyalty, indoctrination, hope and resistance into the performances.

With The Testaments following young women raised inside or pulled toward Gilead’s machinery, the work lives in small shifts: how someone learns to hide what they know, when fear becomes strategy and how a friendship can become a lifeline.

And when Ann Dowd is in the room talking Aunt Lydia, class is officially in session.
