Adele may have put the mic down in form of a long singing hiatus.
However she’s ready to mark her silver screen acting debut in a film adaptation of Anne Rice’s novel Cry to Heaven. The plot tells the story set in 18th-century Italy and follows the intertwined lives of a Venetian noble and a castrated opera singer.
Directed and produced by the one and only Tom Ford.
Set in the 18th-century euro country of Italy. Shall commence shooting in January 2026.
Planned for a fall 2026 release. However it’s the accompanying cast that sets Adele in great grandiose company.
The cast also includes stars like rising youngest Emmy winner Owen Cooper. Plus frequent Ford collaborates, nu legends of their generation Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Along with the wonderful OG Colin Firth!
(ICYMI: Ford’s last directorial outing was Nocturnal Animals, so expect luxe visuals and emotional wreckage.)
We’ll be viewing and waiting on that first sneak peek trailer!
Adele in a Ford period drama? Say less. But who’s your early bet for scene-stealer: Hoult, Firth, or the opera boy?
