In 1930s Algeria, apathetic Frenchman Meursault shows a total of zero f**** to life. His emotional detachment leads to a murder, followed by a trial that scrutinizes both the crime and his character.
Adaptation of Camus’ novel The Stranger. Starring Benjamin Voisin, Rebecca Marder, Pierre Lottin, Swann Arlaud, and Denis Lavant.

The Stranger is an upcoming French drama film written and directed by François Ozon, based on Albert Camus’s 1942 existentialist classic. Benjamin Voisin stars in the lead role of Meursault, a man whose indifference to societal norms becomes the centerpiece of a chilling courtroom reckoning.
The film will premiere in competition at the Venice International Film Festival on September 2, 2025, with a theatrical release in France scheduled for October 29, 2025. Shot in black-and-white, Ozon’s adaptation promises a stark, modern lens on one of literature’s most iconic antiheroes.
