The King Of Cool aka Steve McQueen appeared back in 1965 (February) on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. It was shot by Richard Avedon. Mcqueen shows of a stunning smile along with a classic toxedo while a woman lathered in accessories holds him close. The hand on McQueen’s face is non-other than model Jean Shrimpton. She was said to be an icon of Swinging London and is considered one of the world’s first supermodels.
Jean Shrimpton (the model known as ‘Twiggy’) caused huge controversy in 1965 by wearing a miniskirt to Derby Day in the lead up to the Melbourne Cup.
