According to the likes of fashion houses Alexander McQueen, Prada, Louis Vuitton and Moncler, the next time you think of throwing any perishable food away like that Salade Niçoise you had last night, you might wanna think twice and stuff it in the freezer tightly zip locked. If you ask Fashion photographer Fulvio Bonavia, he’d nod in agreement and tell you to keep the dressing on the side. He just shot an editorial for Garage Magazine entitled ‘Food Dresses’. There are oranges, lettuce, anchovies and walnuts substituting fall collection dresses designed by the previously mentioned labels.
Mister Bonavia has a book specifically capturing garments made from food products entitled, ‘A Matter of Taste’. Stylist Giovanna Battaglia was mentioned by the photographer in the following interview conducted by ‘Stockland Martel Art blog.’

“It was a really good collaboration, as we were very much on the same page with all the concepts. [Giovanna] proposed we do a different look for each different fashion brand, with an interesting structure and textures, and I worked on how to realize these concepts and decide which food would be the right choice.”
Ms. Battaglia had the following to share with the NY Times this past summer saying,
“I hope nobody reads our e-mails back and forth. We were writing things like, ‘yes, Prada is an orange, that’s genius! And Moncler is a fish!’”
