Today In Musique History – Blondie’s Heart Of Glass Is A UK Hit

Today in Musique History the year was 1979, and New York band Blondie begin  their first of five UK No.1 singles, with ‘Heart Of Glass’, taken from the band’s influential third studio album, Parallel Lines.

The song which was originally recorded as a light ditty entitled ‘Once I had a Love’ was reconstructed by producer Mike Chapman who created the perfect mix that would make the band, the song and the face of Blondie Iconic.

We pay tribute to a band and song that has influenced the world with their unconventional artistry doing so with a lead vocalist that changed the way woman were allowed to be seen.
