SoyHood Brings Youth Support And Streetwear Purpose To MidCity Mercado
INYIM Media stopped by the debut Día de Los Muertos Festival on West Adams Blvd. here in Los Angeles, and one of the standout community moments came from Leslie and her youth help group, SoyHood.
The festival brought together creative vendors, local organizations, and neighborhood voices looking to make a difference, with MidCity Mercado helping spotlight the kind of community-first energy that makes a pop-up feel bigger than shopping.

SoyHood carries that blend of purpose and presentation: part social enterprise, part streetwear brand, and fully centered on the power of young people understanding where they come from and why their stories matter.
“SoyHood is a social enterprise and streetwear brand that focuses on reclaiming what it looks like to grow up in our hoods and our daily struggles. We are dedicated to providing our Black and Brown youth with tools to understand the importance of their individual stories and the impact they have in this world.”
That mission fit right into the day. Between the vendors, organizations, families, and festival movement on West Adams, the event felt like a reminder that local markets are not just places to browse. They are places to meet the people actively building, helping, and showing up for the neighborhood.
