Dance Floors, Deep Cuts and One Very Sharp Left Turn

Musique Digs Weekly Playlist header featuring bold white and red text on a vibrant blue background with abstract wave patterns, branded by INYIM Radio and INYIM Media.

This week starts by asking why nobody is dancing — then gives everyone six different reasons to. XKYLAR brings the pop-club question, Young Franco and LF SYSTEM answer with pure floor pressure, 3DDY keeps the pulse warm, A Certain Ratio remind us how strange a groove can get, Agnes slips back into glittering club-pop mode, and TELLER closes the set with something altogether more menacing.

THEE DIG OF THE WEEK

XKYLAR Why Is Nobody Dancing official visualizer

Artist: XKYLAR

Tune: “WHY IS NOBODY DANCING?”

♫Find on Spotify

WHY IT MADE THE CUT

XKYLAR opens with the kind of question that already knows the answer. “WHY IS NOBODY DANCING?” sits right inside her 2026 dance-pop world: compact, glossy and built around forward motion. Produced by XKYLAR with Jon Santana, it does not overstay its welcome — it just hits the floor, makes its point and gets out.

Young Franco and LF SYSTEM Ripa Na Xulipa artwork

Artist: Young Franco & LF SYSTEM

Tune: “Ripa Na Xulipa”

WHY IT MADE THE CUT

Young Franco and LF SYSTEM keep things direct with “Ripa Na Xulipa,” a 2026 single that understands exactly what a good dance record needs: rhythm first, fuss later. The groove is bright, clipped and immediate, with enough bounce to make the whole thing feel effortless without ever sounding lightweight.

3DDY Till It's Over artwork

Artist: 3DDY

Tune: “Till It’s Over”

♫Find on Spotify

WHY IT MADE THE CUT

Released in August through No Art, “Till It’s Over” keeps 3DDY in that sweet spot between songcraft and club function. The pulse stays sleek and steady, but the vocal keeps it from becoming anonymous dance-floor machinery. Warm, controlled and built to carry through the room without shouting for attention.

A Certain Ratio Gum EM artwork

Artist: A Certain Ratio

Tune: “Gum (EM)”

♫Find on Spotify

WHY IT MADE THE CUT

A Certain Ratio’s “Gum” already proved in 1982 that post-punk, funk and dance rhythm did not need separate rooms. “Gum (EM)” brings that elastic groove back through Andrew Meecham’s new mix for The Joy of Sextet, sharpening the percussion without sanding away the track’s wonderfully slippery character.

Agnes Beautiful Madness track visual

Artist: Agnes

Tune: “Beautiful Madness”

♫Find on Spotify

WHY IT MADE THE CUT

Agnes knows exactly what to do with house and disco references: make them glitter without turning them into costume. “Beautiful Madness,” the title track from her 2026 album, is compact club-pop with a sharp melodic center — polished, dramatic and gone before it can wear out the welcome.

TELLER JAWS track visual

Artist: TELLER

Tune: “JAWS”

♫Find on Spotify

WHY IT MADE THE CUT

TELLER closes the six with a hard pivot. “JAWS” folds drill and dancehall into a dark, predatory rap framework, using the shark metaphor as a declaration of control rather than decoration. After five selections built around movement and groove, this one changes the temperature completely — heavier, sharper and deliberately confrontational.
