Dam Swindle keep “5 to 9” deep, warm and properly club-minded, with Surya Sen’s low-slung vocal cutting through the groove instead of merely decorating it. The result has Detroit in the bones, London in the delivery and enough late-night pull to make 5-to-9 sound far more appealing than 9-to-5 ever did.

Of course a record with Nile Rodgers and Sophie Ellis-Bextor was never going to arrive quietly. “Dancing Without You” leans into lush disco theatricality — Rodgers on guitar, Sophie cool at the center and Disco Bambino pushing the whole thing toward a grander, glossier dancefloor. Heartbreak, but make it mirror-ball.

Do Nothing sound best when everything feels slightly off-center, and “Act Natural” wears that tension beautifully. Dry, wiry and suspicious of anything too polished, it moves with the kind of nervous intelligence that makes post-punk feel less like revivalism and more like somebody quietly losing patience in real time.

DRAMA continue making nocturnal music that somehow feels both lonely and luxurious. “Noche” lives in that sweet spot between electronic pulse and R&B ache, with enough restraint to keep the atmosphere simmering instead of turning every emotion into a fireworks display.

Tune: “espiral”

Ela Minus and Nick León close the six with something cooler, more hypnotic and less interested in obvious payoff. “espiral” does exactly what the title suggests: circles, tightens and keeps drawing you inward, making repetition feel sensual rather than static.
