Zara Larsson is on the hot seat — and the callers are iconic. In the latest episode of i‑D Asks, the pop star fields questions from friends, collaborators, and admirers across music, drag, comedy, and beyond. It’s Zara in full charm‑offensive mode: candid, funny, self‑aware, and effortlessly Zara‑core.

She opens by shutting down one thing immediately: she never wants to hear anyone call themselves a flop. “You’re amazing and you’re not a flop,” she insists, urging artists to speak life into their careers instead of labeling themselves mid‑journey.

Then the calls start rolling in.

PinkPantheress asks the impossible: one album for the rest of her life. Zara spirals, laughs, and ultimately picks a curveball — Kids Bop 2016 — because it’s stacked with hits from Rihanna, Drake, and yes, her own “Lush Life.” Variety is key.

A’Whora from Drag Race UK wants to know which trends should stay and which should go. Zara votes to wrap up the “flop” discourse entirely, but she hopes “Midnight Sun” becomes a forever‑summer staple — her dream Mariah‑Carey‑in‑December moment.

Adéla asks about vocal stability, and Zara breaks down her technique: keep the air controlled, find your pockets, and build choreography around vocals — not the other way around. She laughs because Adéla already sings like a superhuman.

KiiiKiii wonders where inspiration comes from these days. Zara credits her friends — the ones who physically drag her out of the house and into nature. She calls herself “eternally lazy,” but being around people she loves sparks everything.

MNEK checks in about the rise of airy, whispery vocals. Zara loves listening to them but says they’re brutal on her own cords. Soft singing is beautiful, she says, but not her natural lane — and she’s fine with that.

Darren Criss asks about accents. Zara admits she used to be self‑conscious, but now she embraces it. Accents add character, she says — even calling them “kind of hot.”

Demi Lovato wants to know her last Postmates order. The answer? A feast from Matsuhisa: crab rolls, Wagyu, tacos, sashimi — lunch and dinner in one go.

Harry Daniels, a day‑one fan, asks which song in her catalog was ahead of its time. Zara shouts out “Sundown” (featuring Wizkid!) and her Sabrina Carpenter collab, but also gives love to “Love Me Land,” a pandemic‑era favorite she’s still proud of.

Veronika Slowikowska from SNL asks for Zara’s no‑skip album. She picks Beyoncé’s “B’Day”, the record that challenged her vocally as a kid and still inspires her today.

Charlotte Rutherford asks what she was cast as in school plays. Zara laughs — she once played the male lead in Moulin Rouge because no one else wanted to, and she wasn’t even cast in Hairspray because she skipped too many classes.

Finally, Robyn asks what she does first when she gets home to Sweden. Zara calls her sister, avoids unpacking, orders food, and sometimes picks a playful fight with her boyfriend just to feel close again after time apart.

It’s Zara Larsson at her most unfiltered — warm, witty, and wonderfully human — surrounded by a constellation of people who adore her.
