Now 17 years old (and very far from his early Young Sheldon days), the actor took to Instagram to share an adorable series of photos documenting the moment he finally met the pop star — and the excitement was very real. The encounter went down at last weekend’s 2026 MLK Jr. Beloved Community Awards, where Billie Eilish was honored for her work in environmental justice.

Iain captioned the first post with full fanboy joy:
“Oh yeah realized I forgot to post the photos of me MEETING BILLIE EILISH. She was so awesome, and genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met- ILYB!!!”
The post featured three photos chronicling their meeting: one where the two share a sweet hug, and two more where Armitage looks both shocked and elated as Billie cheeses for the camera.
“Some celebrity meetings feel staged — this one feels like a core memory.”
But he wasn’t done.
In a second post, Armitage added even more sauce, revealing the deeper reason behind Billie’s presence at the event:
“I ALSO forgot to mention that Billie was there accepting the environmental justice award for donating ELEVEN AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS to the Changemaker Program🥱 What a legend!!”
So yes — not only did Iain meet one of his musical heroes, he got to witness her being honored for putting serious money behind serious causes.
