Whoo-Hoo! Wham! Lands UK Christmas No. 1.

Wham!’s Last Christmas hit U.K. No. 1 in Dec. 2024, 41 years after its debut, dethroning Taylor Swift.

Wham!’s timeless “Last Christmas” is baacckk! Snagging the No. 1 spot on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart (Dec. 12-dated tally) as the festive party season gets busy.

(Fun fact: “Last Christmas” is one of the most-streamed holiday songs globally, with over a billion plays on Spotify.)

The seminal twosome—Andrew Ridgeley and George Michael—dethroned Taylor Swift and her track The Fate of Ophelia.

It’s been 41 years since its initial debut. Written by Michael in 1984, Last Christmas was famously beaten to the Christmas No. 1 by Band Aid’s charity anthem Do They Know It’s Christmas?

Fast-forward: it finally claimed victory in 2023, then repeated the feat in 2024. Proof that true classics never fade.

A true great artist unfortunately always shows its genuine innate rainbow connection colors when the mighty, one-of-a-kind soul spirits have moved on from the physical world.

Holiday heads—does Last Christmas deserve its crown after all these years? Drop your thoughts below.
