The Las Vegas Sphere is set to host an enhanced version of “The Wizard of Oz,” premiering on August 28, 2025. This immersive experience aims to transport audiences into the magical world of Oz, utilizing Sphere’s cutting-edge technology to create a fully immersive environment.
Early Tuesday morning, the Sphere’s “Exosphere” showcased a virtual tornado, complete with storm clouds and a digital house. When the smoke cleared, a pair of legs and ruby slippers, 50 feet long and 22 feet high, emerged from the Sphere. This dramatic stunt marked the beginning of ticket sales for the upcoming show.
Sphere president and COO Jennifer Koester explained that the tornado stunt was designed to match the size and scale of the Sphere and to give a taste of the immersive experience that awaits inside.
