Shakira continues her Zootopia franchise promo tour as the voice of pop superstar, Gazelle!

Shakira first voiced Gazelle in Disney’s 2016 animated smash Zootopia, delivering the upbeat anthem “Try Everything.” The sequel, Zootopia 2, is slated for release November 2026, with Gazelle returning as a central figure in the film’s musical arc. Shakira’s promo run ties neatly into her own upcoming album cycle, rumored to drop mid-2026 under Sony Music Latin.
Shakira shared: “I just couldn’t believe that Disney called me again for Zootopia 2. This is one of their biggest movies ever. So, I felt the challenge and a big responsibility to come up with something that was up to the task.”
Asked if she was nervous following the success of “Try Everything” (streamed nearly three billion times), she admitted: “I definitely felt the responsibility that it entailed, but I wasn’t that nervous. I felt in good company with Disney. They really gave me the license to just explore.”

On the new music video: “We started out 8:00 p.m. at night and finished like at 9:00 a.m. the next day. Just wearing those horns.”
And on motherhood: “You play a gazelle, but you’re ultimately mama bear. My boys are my everything. We have a really close relationship. They were babies in Zootopia 1 and now they’re older, very active, with lots of opinions like their mother. I consulted with them on many aspects—from Gazelle’s outfits to the music.”
We thought she looked a bit exhausted in the video—makes sense, she’s balancing promo life with raising two teenagers now.
