Project Hail Mary follows in the footsteps of Weir’s The Martian, which also hit the big screen in 2015. Gosling’s casting marks his first major sci-fi role since Blade Runner 2049. The film is expected to blend high-stakes survival with Lord & Miller’s signature wit, making it one of 2026’s most anticipated releases.
