A red fox traveled more than 3,400 miles across the Atlantic before being discovered aboard a cargo vessel arriving in New York.

Now this is one unexpected international traveler.
A furry stowaway managed to cross the Atlantic Ocean from England to New York, after a red fox was discovered aboard a cargo ship that had sailed all the way from Southampton to the Port of New York and New Jersey.
Officials said the vessel had traveled roughly 3,400 miles before the surprise passenger was finally spotted on board.
Fresh music, bold entertainment, and men’s fashion—one tight email a week.
The adventurous fox eventually made its way to a much more comfortable landing spot — the Bronx Zoo, where wildlife experts are now caring for the unexpected visitor.
Exactly how the fox managed to board the massive cargo ship in the first place remains a mystery. Officials say they still have no clear idea how the animal slipped aboard and turned the vessel into its own form of transatlantic public transportation.
Still, the journey makes for a remarkable tale of survival — and one very determined fox.
