Like they say, every GOOD man needs a GOOD woman. Point in case, were Egon and Diane von Furstenberg when they were married temporarily during the early 1970s. But like every positive relationship, after a brief marriage, they kept a very close and long friendship that eventually molded D.V.F into a fashion household name.
According to sources, it was Egon, whom helmed the idea for Diane’s now legendary, jersey wrap around dress that ultimately defined 1970’s easy-to-wear fashion. Egon had quite the experience and reputation having worked as a one-time buyer for Macy’s.
In the photo above, the von Furstenbergs showcased that they weren’t all about sketches, cuts, and structures. They clearly had a niche for dressing themselves equally as stellar with personal style that transcend generations. Looking super adorable while strolling the streets of NYC, just like their matching checkered shirts, I must call check-mate on this one as one the best looking fashion couples during the 1970’s.
Fresh music, bold entertainment, and men’s fashion—one tight email a week.
Like the classics, Diane von Furstenberg is season less and will remain so until the end of time.
