INYIM Media faves and 2000s indie dance-rocking legends Bloc Party have finally made their Tiny Desk debut—and yes, it’s as exquisitely electric as you’d hope.

For the first time ever, the band stepped into NPR’s iconic office space and delivered a tight, no-filler set that spans their career. From the early 2000s post-punk revival days to their more experimental turns, this performance is a full-circle moment for fans who’ve been riding the Bloc Party wave since day one.

The Set That Shook the Desk

They kicked things off with the undeniable classic “Banquet”—a track that still hits like a strobe-lit dance floor in 2005. Then came the haunting “Signs,” the chaotic brilliance of “Mercury,” and the dreamy closer “Blue.”

Which, for all you club kids from the ’80s, ’90s, 2000s, and 2010s—know what the groove is.

Short, sharp, and unforgettable.

The Current Lineup Bringing It All to Life

  • Kele Okereke – Founding Member, vocals, guitar, and that unmistakable presence
  • Russell Lissack – guitar wizardry
  • Louise Bartle – drums and backing vocals
  • Harry Deacon – bass, keys, glockenspiel, and harmonies

This current lineup is tight, dynamic, and clearly having a blast—proof that Bloc Party isn’t just surviving, they’re thriving.

A Long Time Coming

It’s wild to think this is their first-ever Tiny Desk appearance, but the wait? Worth it. The stripped-down setting lets the band’s raw energy and musicianship shine. It’s Bloc Party, unfiltered—and it’s glorious.
