Lillian Roth

Lillian Roth was an American singer and actress whose career stretched from child performance and vaudeville into Broadway, early talking pictures and later nightclub work. Born in Boston in 1910, she became known in the late 1920s and 1930s for musical stage and film appearances, then returned to public attention after her memoir I’ll Cry Tomorrow. Roth also made commercial recordings for labels including Coral and Epic, preserving a distinctive voice from the pre-rock popular-song era.
