Kimbra is a New Zealand singer-songwriter and producer known for adventurous art pop that freely draws from jazz, R&B, rock, funk and electronic music. Raised in Hamilton, she released her debut album Vows in 2011 and reached a global audience through both “Settle Down” and her Grammy-winning appearance on Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know.” The Golden Echo, Primal Heart, A Reckoning and Idols & Vices continued her preference for dense vocal arrangements and genre experimentation, while 2026 releases kept her independent catalog moving forward.
