Jill Scott

Jill Scott is a Philadelphia singer-songwriter whose conversational delivery, poetic writing and richly textured voice helped define the modern neo-soul movement. She first drew wider attention through her connection to The Roots and emerged as a solo artist with Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds, Vol. 1 in 2000. Across albums including Beautifully Human: Words and Sounds, Vol. 2, The Real Thing, The Light of the Sun and Woman, Scott has moved fluidly between soul, R&B, jazz, hip-hop and spoken word. A three-time Grammy Award winner, she has also worked as a poet, actor, producer and philanthropist. Her 2026 album, To Whom This May Concern, marks her return with new studio material.
