El Alfa is a Dominican rapper and vocalist whose rapid-fire delivery and high-energy production helped propel dembow from the Dominican Republic into the global Latin mainstream. Born Emanuel Herrera Batista in Santo Domingo, he began recording in the late 2000s and built a prolific catalog around the genre’s relentless rhythmic pulse. Tracks including “4K,” “La Mamá de la Mamá” and major collaborations with Bad Bunny, Cardi B and other international artists have made him one of dembow’s most recognizable ambassadors.
