Billy Idol

Billy Idol is an English singer and songwriter who emerged from London’s first-wave punk scene as the frontman of Generation X. Born William Broad, he moved into a solo career in the early 1980s, combining punk attitude with dance-rock, pop, and hard-rock songwriting. His self-titled 1982 debut, Rebel Yell, Whiplash Smile, and Charmed Life produced enduring tracks including “White Wedding,” “Dancing with Myself,” “Eyes Without a Face,” “Rebel Yell,” and “Cradle of Love.” Idol has continued recording and touring across five decades, releasing the album Dream Into It in 2025.
