Alessia Cara is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose thoughtful pop and R&B writing centers individuality, self-doubt and emotional honesty. Raised in Brampton, Ontario, she first built an audience by posting acoustic covers online before breaking through in 2015 with the anti-party anthem “Here.” Her debut album Know-It-All also produced “Scars to Your Beautiful,” while later projects including The Pains of Growing, In the Meantime and Love & Hyperbole expanded her sound without losing the conversational songwriting that made her distinctive.
