Arcade Fire have unleashed an eccentrically humorous and silly new animated musique video for their nuevo single “Chemistry”. Directed by Ray Tintori, and animated by Starburns Industries (Rick And Morty), the aesthetics are a beautiful buffet of the song’s motif of chemical attraction. Tale as old as time, the short film follows the animal kingdom specifically a dog and a kitty cat who meet and fall in love.
The video follows both characters who meet at a wedding reception (full of sharks nonetheless). Once they unravel their mutual infatuation with each other, their love goes beyond limits and transports them into space, where they come crashing back to Earth after destroying a space station and an evil robotic shark.
“We’ve been big fans of Ray’s work since his early videos,” lead singer Win Butler said in a press release. He met up with Tintori in New Orleans during Mardi Gras this past year.

Butler continued saying, “There is a playful, carnivalesque energy to the song; to capture that by filming literally during carnival felt right.”
