The German model and actor steps into a monochrome frame for Numéro Netherlands’ Spring 2024 digital edition, with Freyberg handling both photography and styling. The result is stripped back, graphic and quietly cinematic — exactly the kind of image-making that gives black-and-white photography its staying power.

Julian Freyberg Builds the Look Around Contrast

Freyberg’s styling pulls from labels including A.P.C., Levi’s, Valentino, Acne Studios, Saint Laurent, Moncler, Our Legacy, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Tom Ford and Arket, giving the editorial a broad menswear vocabulary without overpowering Böttcher himself.

Across the series, the clothes shift but the visual language stays focused: clean lines, skin, tailoring, denim and attitude. Böttcher’s face does the rest.

Böttcher had already moved between modeling and acting by the time this editorial arrived, but in Freyberg’s frame the assignment is refreshingly simple: let the model, the clothes and the contrast carry the page.
